I can't believe it's finally the night before we leave. When I first found out that I was going to Nunavut it seemed so far away and surreal. However, time lately has seemed to fly by. I have mixed emotions. On one hand I am super excited. I can't wait to see the land, meet the people and teach the kids. I have been talking to my hosts, as well as my cooperating teacher and principal, who all seem equally as excited. It's going to be such a good experience. Truly a trip to remember. On the other hand I am dealing with some nerves. The course I took was a great orientation to the North and what to expect, but nothing is as good as personal experience. The unknown is always nerve wracking, but a true test of character. My mind is constantly going, trying to remember if I have packed everything. Packing for a month to go to a place unfamiliar to me, where supplies are not readily available, was a challenge, but was successful in the end. I'm sure that once I am on the plane the nerves, which are mostly anticipation, will be at ease.
I meet my fellow northern adventurers tomorrow around 11 o'clock at the airport. I can not wait :)
